About

I create sculpture with mixed media but primarily clay. My work is large, strong and resilient. It refuses to be ignored. Made with rough sculpture clay, gritty and course; porcelain, soft, smooth and fragile; and the recent additions of wood, plaster and steel. I am drawn to vertical shapes and also opposites…square and circular forms, rough and smooth surfaces…

The clay is everything. Your starting point is this solid mass. A lump of earth. The relationship between the maker and their material is paramount and so you need to know that you can work together.
